Last Day of School

5TH GRADE PARENTS ONLY:

We wanted to make sure you had the details around the 5th grade continuation program and all the activities on your student’s last day of school.  The continuation program will begin at 9:00 am in the BCES gym.  The program should take approximately one hour.  Following the program, students and teachers will walk to the Eagle Town Park, where they will continue their celebration.  This year, we are excited to announce that our PTA will sponsor lunch for students and their parents in the park.  You are welcome to join us for lunch, lemonade and cake.  Students are also encouraged to bring park toys (ig soccer balls, footballs, etc) that they can walk to/from the park.  At approximately 1:45pm, students will participate in their traditional “clap-out” into the school and then all students will watch the end-of-year video.  Parents are also welcome for this annual tradition. Following the dismissal from school, no other activities are planned.

It’s a lot!  Feel free to join for part (or all) of the day’s activities as you can!  We’re so proud of our students and grateful to our parents for their years of dedication to our school.  Our goal is to celebrate all our families together that day!

10am - Students walk to Town of Eagle Park (approximately 30 minute)

Pennies for Patients (School Sponsored Service Learning Project) Begins

Over the course of 3 weeks, the entire school comes together in a school-wide service learning project as part of a national program sponsored by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Each classroom will discuss the importance of giving back to their greater community and why good citizenship is important.  Over the course of the project, students will determine what fundraisers they would like to create and drive, lead efforts to raise money, and count the money raised.  The final event is a school-wide assembly where the money raised is presented in over-sized checks to local students in our community who are battling leukemia and lymphoma.

A very powerful lesson in the importance of giving!
